First things first: what is it?

For some, Microneedling might sound scary (the word “needle” can do that!), but we assure you this treatment is nothing to fear. This fast and safe treatment is performed by a device that punctures micro channels into the skin’s surface. These tiny ‘micro injuries’ as we call them, initiate a response in your body to produce new collagen and elastin. With more collagen and elastin, your skin heals and replenishes quickly, leaving you with a healthier complexion.

Microneedling can be used to enhance the appearance of virtually any section of the body, including: face, neck and neckline, chest, back, stomach, arms and legs and hands.

Depending on your needs, we have two device options  that can be used during treatment: SkinPen and Vivace.

Does Microneedling hurt?

Just because it involves needles, doesn’t mean it’s going to hurt. Prior to treatment, a topical numbing cream is applied so you can’t feel the microinjuries. Immediately after treatment you may have redness, but that will subside within 24-48 hours revealing smoother, tighter skin. Results will continue to improve over the next few weeks as the microneedling stimulates your body’s natural collagen production.

Does Microneedling Tighten Skin?

Yes. Traditional microneedling stimulates your body’s natural collagen production, which helps tighten your skin. Specifically, the Vivace microneedling treatment, which includes the addition of radiofrequency technology, provides enhanced skin tightening results. As a result, it is an effective way to improve the appearance of loose skin, jowls and wrinkles.

How Many Microneedling Sessions Are Typically Needed?

Microneedling typically requires about 4-6 sessions for optimal results and depending on device (SkinPen or Vivace). This truly varies based on your needs and the condition of your skin. It’s possible that microneedling can deliver your desired improvement in skin tone, skin texture, hyperpigmentation, pore size and wrinkles in less treatment time, but good skin requires commitment. Our expert aestheticians are highly trained to create customized treatment plans

that will help you reach your goals in the shortest amount of time, so you can get to enjoying your beautiful healthy skin as quickly as possible.

Does Microneedling Break Down Dermal Fillers?

Microneedling and dermal fillers can be combined for enhanced skin rejuvenation results. The boost in collagen production from microneedling will augment the restoration of facial volume provided by the filler. However, our aestheticians recommend that you wait at least three weeks – 1 month after the filler treatment before undergoing your microneedling session. This will ensure the filler has time to completely settle.

People talk about my own blood being used in microneedling…what is that about?

That is called PRP and it can be added on to any microneedling treatment. Let us quickly explain here and then we encourage you to learn more using the button below, as we LOVE PRP.

PRP is a treatment that uses your blood to your benefit to boost recovery time and results. Your blood will be drawn and spun down in a device that separates the platelet-rich plasma (PRP) from the red blood cells. This process concentrates the growth factors in the plasma which makes it a powerful and effective serum when applied during treatment.
