Marionette Lines

When laugh lines or nasolabial folds (the lines that go from the outer corners of your nose to the outer corners of your mouth), travel further down the mouth to the outside of the jawline on either side of the chin, those are called marionette lines. Think marionette string puppet. Depending on genetic predisposition, they could show on the face as early as in your 20’s and 30’s, but usually they become more visible for women middle aged and older. They have a drooping quality that can make the face appear pouty.

Aside from hereditary factors, gravity is also to blame. As we age, gravity exerts control over our faces, stretching our skin downward.
