A chemical peel is an effective option when combatting fine lines, wrinkles, rough texture, large pores, acne, or pigmentation. When you opt for a chemical peel, you’re opting for deep exfoliation and mild to moderate resurfacing to rid the skin of the outermost layer of the skin in efforts to accelerate skin cell turnover.
And let’s talk about free radicals? Yes, chemical peels can be a great defense against environmental damage including UV damage. We are affected by free radicals everywhere we go. If it’s time to reverse the damage and reveal brighter, softer, more even toned skin, then it might be time for a chemical peel.
So what’s the purpose of a chemical peel? The purpose of a chemical peel treatment is to stimulate the epidermis and dermis of the skin to enhance the development of new cells. A peel exfoliates the outermost layer of the skin, removing dead skin cells and debris, allowing it to penetrate deeper into the dermis to stimulate new growth and improve skin tone and texture. Recent progress in medical science has produced tremendous results in facial rejuvenation with chemical peel treatments. Our clinic is proud to offer the five best chemical peels options to our patients.
It took time for your skin to lose its vitality, so it will take time to regenerate new cells. As we age, the rate at which our skin cells turnover slows down. Skin cells turnover approximately every forty-five days. Depending on the issue we are treating, some peels are a single treatment while others work best in a series. Our certified aestheticians will discuss the best course of action for you.
We offer different chemical peels with different strengths depending on the unique needs and goals of our male patients.
Chemical Peels We Offer:
A glycolic peel is also known as “the lunchtime peel”. This is because they are easy to apply and lighter on your skin, which makes it the perfect lunch hour treatment. This mild medical peel is among our most popular. Glycolic is an alpha hydroxy acid that is the perfect solution for smoothing rough skin, treating dry areas, improving sun damage and aiding in the control of acne.
The Glycolic Peel uses a chemical solution to smooth and improve the quality of a man’s skin. It does so by eliciting the top layers of skin to separate and gradually peel off. The result is noticeably healthier looking skin.
The salicylic peel we offer our male patients is an oil-soluble beta hydroxy acid that is great for treating skin discoloration, acne, sun damage and fine lines. This is an especially effective peel for men who have oily skin. The salicylic peel aids in killing the bacteria that causes acne as well as balances out oil production. They are most commonly performed as a series of treatments.
The VI Peel is a medical-grade chemical peel treatment that we use on men to help reveal a more youthful and refreshed appearance. The VI Peel can treat a variety of skin conditions, including: acne, melasma, hyperpigmentation, uneven skin tone and texture, fine lines and wrinkles, acne scarring, age spots, sun spots and enlarged pores.
The chemical solution of the VI peel removes the outer layers of skin so newer, smoother layers can begin to grow underneath. The treatment helps stimulate collagen production and brightens the tone of your skin. The VI peel is effective in men of all different skin types, and has delivered better results with darker skin tones than many other chemical peel treatments. How about for acne? This treatment has been proven safe and effective in managing acne among teenagers.
The VI Peel helps you achieve a more youthful, revitalized appearance.
The procedure takes 30 minutes from start to finish. Our certified aestheticians will apply the VI Peel to your skin. It must be left on for five hours before you can wash it off at home. In some patients, it causes a slight stinging sensation while the peel is being applied. However, this should subside shortly after.
While most patients only require one treatment to achieve their desired outcome, some patients do require one or more follow-up procedures, performed every two weeks, to maximize the effectiveness of their treatment.
Immediately after treatment your skin may appear a slightly red or brown. You can generally resume all regular activities immediately following your treatment. During the five hours the peel solution remains on your face, it is best to avoid strenuous activities.
The peeling process should start about three days after your treatment, lasting for about one week. You can use moisturizer to cover up the appearance of skin peeling. During this time you may experience some skin sensitivities. It is best to completely avoid the sun during this time.
Within a few days of your procedure is when you can expect to see initial results of your VI Peel. You will notice a significant improvement in the tone and texture of your skin, providing you with a more youthful glow.
