FAQ's on retinol:

What is retinol?

As with anything involving something you put on your face or body, we recommend understanding what it is before buying it. retinol is a type of Vitamin A that helps stimulate collagen production and promotes new cell growth. As a result, it helps produce smoother and younger looking skin. retinol is a versatile product that can focus on reducing the appearance of fine lines and pore size and assist in combating acne. It’s easy to use and a small amount goes a long way.

When should you start using retinol?

A good rule of thumb when it comes to retinol is to start applying it in your late 20s or early 30s. This is the prime time to invest in anti-aging products for the skin. Note to those with acne prone skin: retinol can help. Retinol provides a smoother, more even toned complexion at any age.

The earlier you start addressing signs of aging, the easier it is to maintain a more youthful look. We’re all about aging with grace here. That comes with taking care of your skin, not avoiding it all together.

How should you apply it?

A recommendation from our Certified Aestheticians have this to say about retinol: Retinol is available in different strengths. When starting off with retinol, we recommend using a smaller percentage 2-3 times a week. Due to its active properties, retinol is not a product you want to over apply. When you feel more comfortable with adding it to your routine, it might be time to increase the strength. With that in mind, we recommend starting with a retinol 0.25 just twice a week.
