The Importance Of Skin Care Treatments Now More Than Ever

We’re in the homestretch of summer, even though our recent weather forecast would make you think we’re sprinting into winter, but that’s why we love Colorado.

This is the perfect time of year to check in on your skin; for many more reasons than the changing of the seasons and the need to erase summer damage.

What are we talking about? Well, we’ve been wearing masks, we’ve been staying home more than going out, many of us roll out of bed and into our offices – and believe it or not, our biggest organ, our skin, is affected by these changes in our lifestyle.

So, this is our plea: please don’t let up on caring for your skin as you adjust to the new normal. Who feels like skin maintenance is less important because you wear less makeup on a daily basis? Or “I’m wearing a mask, so who cares if I put on sunscreen today or if I wash my face”? Don’t take short cuts when it comes to caring for your skin. We promise it’ll sneak up on you. We say this because we hear these reasons every day from our patients, so. we want to address it and provide ways to help.

Last week in the Beauty Room, we talked about the importance of at-home skin care living in Denver, but this week, we’re talking about the importance of receiving treatments for your skin. We’re breaking free from the house and driving straight to the medical spa. When was the last time you treated your skin? If your answer is 6+ months ago, you’re due for a treatment. Giving your skin a boost with our skin treatments is important to your skin health. It’s time to make a commitment to your skin and to yourself.

We don’t want our skin care service menu to be daunting or intimidating, so we’re highlighting three treatments that are appropriate for all skin types. A great place to start when thinking about your skin concerns. For more, we encourage you to look at the entire lineup by visiting our skin care page OR take the first step in kick-starting your skin health by scheduling a consultation today (they are no cost to you!)

Let’s get learning. What are these skin care treatments and what do they do?

HydraFacial

HYDRAFACIAL

Does your skin need a drink? How about thorough exfoliation? Living in Denver, Colorado, your skin may be proclaiming, “Both!”

The HydraFacial is a tried and true treatment we stand by as it’s welcoming of all skin types, provides an envious glow, and doesn’t call for downtime. It’s also the perfect introductory treatment if you’re newer to the skin care scene. If you’re looking to address fine lines and wrinkles, elasticity and firmness, skin texture, brown spots, acne, congested skin, or enlarged pores, HydraFacial is for you.

What should you expect from your HydraFacial treatment? You can expect a three-step process:

  • Cleanse and Peel: experience the gentle cleansing and exfoliating process which helps uncover a new layer of skin.
  • Extract and Hydrate: vacuum-like suction removes unwanted debris from pores.
  • Fuse and Protect: fuel your skin’s glow with antioxidants and peptides as the final step.

Want to try before you buy a package of 3 treatments? Our Signature HydraFacial is regularly $200. We also have our Maskne special on now, which is our Clarifying HydraFacial reg: $225 on special for $199. Caters to those experiencing breakouts from mask-wearing.

SkinPen

SKINPEN

More popularly known as “microneedling,” SkinPen is a microneedling device designed to rejuvenate your skin. Through a series of controlled micro-injuries to your skin, SkinPen delivers collagen-stimulating results.

SkinPen is great for all skin types. Especially skin that’s facing fine lines and wrinkles. It can also help correct the appearance of acne scars and hyperpigmentation.

How does SkinPen give you the results you’re looking for? With numbing cream carefully applied to your skin and a hair net around your locks, our certified aestheticians will make several passes over your skin with the SkinPen device. By micro-injuring your skin, your inflammatory response kicks in, causing fine lines, pores, and hyperpigmentation to minimize.

Pro tip: collagen production can take weeks to initiate. That’s why our certified aestheticians will recommend multiple treatments in order to ensure stellar results.

CHEMICAL PEELS

Say what you want about chemical peels; we LOVE them. Nothing like clear, glowing skin, and confidence to match. Is there some downtime? There can be. Does your skin actually peel, shedding its outer most layer? YES. Setting proper expectations is important with peels, and the glass-like skin as the reward is definitely worth it.

In our practice, we offer a variety of medical peels for your skin. Having to choose which peel is right for you is a job for our Certified Aesthetician. With a full consultation and skin analysis, our team will match you with the Peel that’s best for your skin and aesthetic goals.

NOTE: all of these treatments do perform the best in multiple rounds of treatments (is this our shameless plug to talk about our BUILD YOUR OWN PACKAGE special? Absolutely! This month (September 2020) ONLY:

Remember This: Prevention is Easier

Preventing the problem is always easier than fixing the problem. Wearing sunscreen, sticking to your at-home routine, and scheduling frequent skin care treatments can all prevent invasive treatments down the road. Having beautiful skin as you get older means making smart choices throughout your life. Just as doing the right things now can help you down the road, bad skin care choices can have lifelong impacts. Don’t neglect your skin!

It is absolutely worth the time and energy to take care of your skin on a daily basis.

It’s absolutely worth the FREE consult that we offer with our expert certified aestheticians to learn more about your skin and meet a true friend in the skin care world.

Your now self will thank you. Your future self will thank you. It’s a skin win – now and later.

Our complimentary skin care consultations are conveniently located at our Denver and Greenwood Village medical spas.
