Yay, you’re here!
You want to learn more about dermal filler, and when we say that you’re in the right place, we couldn’t be more serious.
Facial Aesthetics is the home to the most experienced dermal filler injectors in Colorado. Go ahead and do the research, you’ll find the same answer everywhere. This is because 25 years ago, our owner and founder Pamela Hill, RN, CANS, was the first medical spa injector of dermal filler in Colorado. Because of the first-class training and leadership of Pam, and our Medical Director, Dr. John A. Grossman (both pioneers in aesthetics), the experience and expertise of our clinical staff has become a rarity in a busy aesthetics industry in Denver.
So Let's Talk Dermal Filler
Dermal fillers are an exceptional anti-aging treatment. From wrinkles and fine lines, to a loss of facial volume or redefining facial structure, dermal fillers help restore a youthful, refreshed appearance. Whether we use them to enhance or correct, we never take the impact of the results for granted. We love shared stories from our patients about increased confidence and overwhelming feelings of happiness – after all, that is what it’s all about.
But really…what are Dermal Fillers?
Dermal fillers are injectable treatments that are most often made of hyaluronic acid in the form of a gel-like substance. They are most commonly known to reduce the appearance of facial lines and restore volume and fullness to the face. Dermal filler is injected into the skin using a syringe. If you’re looking for facial rejuvenation but don’t want to deal with the anesthesia, incisions, and sutures that accompany a facelift, fillers can be an excellent alternative. A liquid facelift is one of our specialties. It utilizes the perfect combination of dermal filler and Botox to achieve your aesthetic goals and a refreshed appearance that will leave you glowing.
What Can Fillers Do?
Fillers can treat many visible signs of aging that appear on the face, such as:
- Dark circles under the eyes (under eye hollows)
- Moderate to deep-set lines and creases
- Chin augmentation
- Marionette lines
- Loss of facial volume
- Laugh lines (nasolabial folds)
- Loss of lip volume
- Lip asymmetries
- Jowl reduction
- Jawline contouring
How Do Fillers Work?
Two compounds naturally occur in your body that affect how elastic, voluminous, and wrinkled your skin appears:
- Collagen: Collagen is one of the most plentiful proteins in your body. It is essential to helping your skin maintain its elasticity and keep it wrinkle-free. If you stretch a bit of your skin and watch it snap back into place, that’s collagen in action. The protein also helps your skin heal from wounds and injuries.
- Hyaluronic acid: This is a clear, gelatinous substance that holds water to help keep your skin voluminous and hydrated. A molecule of hyaluronic acid can hold a thousand times its weight in water. It continually moisturizes your skin throughout the day.
As you age, your body’s production of collagen and hyaluronic acid declines. Starting in your mid-20s, you produce about 1 percent less per year of each substance. This manufacturing never naturally picks back up again. This decline in the production of collagen and hyaluronic acid is one of the biggest reasons why people’s faces start to show signs of aging. Other factors, such as exposure to the sun’s ultraviolet rays and smoking, also degrade collagen and hyaluronic acid.
As mentioned above, most fillers that we offer at Facial Aesthetics are made of hyaluronic acid. They’re also designed to stimulate the production of collagen in the treatment areas. By infusing your skin with these substances, fillers allow collagen and hyaluronic acid to do their job and heal your skin of the visible signs of aging.
What Dermal Fillers Do Facial Aesthetics Offer?
We love options! When we’re able to select from the best dermal filler products on the market, we are confident we’ll get the result we need. These product options will always be discussed in your consultation. It’s important that we assess your facial anatomy first before we decide on product. While they’re all filler products, their weights are what make them different. Some are better suited for lip injections, some for cheek volume and some are firmer to perfect that profile and provide definition.
Our dermal filler options at Facial Aesthetics are:
- Juvederm Ultra
- Juvederm Volbella
- Juvederm Voluma
- Juvederm Vollure
- Restylane Lyft
- Restylane Refyne
- Restylane Defyne
- Restylane Kysse

How long do Dermal Fillers last?
This is an important question for patients, and for good reason. With dermal filler, you can expect to love your look for up to 12 months. Because dermal filler breaks down and metabolizes over time (through the body’s natural excretion process), its duration is different for everyone. It may last longer for some patients, whereas for others a touch-up may come before the 12-month period.
