BOTOX® Cosmetic is a treatment that is injected into the desired location to fight fine lines and wrinkles and create smoother skin texture. At the injection site the Botox temporarily blocks nerve signals to the facial muscles which stops the muscle contractions. These contractions are what cause and form wrinkles on the face.

Botox® blocks the nerve signals in the facial muscles which means they cannot contract. The more units of Botox used, the less movement the face will have. The nerve signals are blocked by the Botox being injected into the skin, and the muscles become temporarily paralyzed. As the muscles cannot move this is what results in the reduction of fine lines and wrinkles, a smoother texture of skin, and any current wrinkles appear to be filled in.

 You will also want to inform us of anything else that may hinder your cosmetic results, including:

• if you have an infection in the proposed area
• have some muscle/skeletal disorders (for your safety, please disclose all medical conditions to your clinician prior to treatment)
• are undergoing chemotherapy or radiation therapy
• have double vision

Sometimes, people find that they do not meet the requirements to be a BOTOX® Cosmetic patient. If this is the case, our team may recommend other skin care treatments to help you get the youthful appearance you’re hoping to achieve.

Although Botox is a derivative of Botulinum Toxin A, the injection itself is not toxic. This is because the formula is mixed with a saline solution before it’s injected, making the concentration level far below harmful. Botox is also FDA approved and the most studied non-surgical medical aesthetic treatment, making it possibly one of the safest. However, it’s important to note, that like any medical treatments and procedures, when it is in the wrong hands and performed incorrectly the results can be dangerous.

Botox can be given to most people apart from pregnant women or if you are breastfeeding. However, it is also important to remember that each patient is different, meaning that the results can vary and suitability might not be for everyone.

The price of the treatment will vary depending on the amount of units used and if the procedure is full coverage or a top up. In short, the price will be decided by what it is you are wanting to achieve.

A good rule of thumb to have in place is to try not to seek cheap Botox prices. More than likely this will suggest that the injector is less experienced than more expensive clinics, and this can result in unwanted and unpredictable results. It’s good to remember that you aren’t necessarily paying for the Botox, you are paying for the experience and skill set of the clinician you have chosen.

After a week you should begin to see full results. These results can last around 2.5 to 3.5 months depending on the client.

Once you’re ready for a top up, it’s important to not let the effects of Botox wear off completely before your next session. This will allow the muscles to contract again and will take more Botox in your next session to revert the results.
